Nicholas Serrano is a fantasy writer from central New Jersey, currently living in Pennsylvania. His love for the world of fantasy began in childhood, and has only grown stronger since then. When not behind the writing desk, Nick can be found hanging out with friends and family, or escaping into fantastical realms in his head. The Witches of Oz is his debut series.

What was your favorite book when you were younger?
I can't name just one! I had a number of favorites, including Artemis Fowl, Leven Thumps, and 39 Clues! I've also scattered some of my other favorites along this page.
Where do you get your ideas from for your writing?
Well, The Witches of Oz was inspired by my love of 'villain origin stories' and the original Wonderful Wizard of Oz books. But my other writing (on its way!) comes from lots of trial and error, and spin offs from a story I wrote when I was thirteen and never stopped building on.
How do you come up with character names?
In my unpublished works, I used anagrams and/or a baby name website, looking for names who's meanings are somehow related to the character. For The Witches of Oz, all character names (who aren't from the original books by L. Frank Baum) are based upon crystals and gemstones.
Do you have any pets?
Unfortunately, no. But my parents have two dogs that I adore! Penny and Bailey.
